This Vacuum Clipper System removes dander and animal hair during clipping, protecting operators who are sensitive or allergic to these materials. It is made up of three components:
1. Clipper shield
2. Vacuum cleaner with cart
3. Small animal clipper
The unique clipper shield weighs 104.9 g (3.6 oz). It mounts directly behind the blades and will not interfere with the operator’s view. Both attachment and removal of the shield from the clipper is easy, facilitating cleaning and decontamination. The airflow across the clipper blades eliminates overheating and the need for a cooling spray.
The vacuum cleaner has a HEPA exhaust filter which is 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns. Debris is collected in a bag filter which is removed under negative pressure. This further reduces exposure to dander while emptying the vacuum cleaner. The vacuum’s swing arm rotates through 360 degrees which allows the system to be placed away from the operator while being used. A sturdy lightweight cart is supplied with the System and permit easy transport from lab to lab or room to room.
Either the BS4 52-5204 or BS4 52-5205 Small Animal Clipper, described the facing page, is included with this system. This clipper mounts on the end of a lightweight hose 1.9 cm (0.75 in) diameter by 152.4 cm (60 in) long. Clipped hair and dander is suctioned past the clipper shield, into the hose, and then ends up in the bag filter internal to the vacuum. This process reduces hair and dander in the air and facilitates lab cleanup.
The system is supplied complete with a paper bag, a cloth filter and HEPA exhaust filter. Replacement paper bags and HEPA filters are offered separately. An optional Tool Kit is also available separately. This kit contains some standard vacuum cleaner attachment tools which allow the vacuum to be used for general lab cleanup (dry only).
