This system is extremely useful for acute or chronic studies including metabolism studies, euthanasia, CO2 collection, inhalation studies and isolation requirements. It can be used as an open or closed system.
This system consists of a transparent plastic cylindrical body section, two convex cone-shaped sections, and a concave cone-shaped top section. Both the top and bottom convex cone sections have gas orifices. The orifice on the bottom section may also be used as a urine separator/collector. The concave top section permits the use of a standard water bottle. An optional Liquid Diet/Water Feeder, available as an accessory, can be mounted inside the chamber with the brackets supplied.
The small chamber is for mice, small rats and gerbils. The large chamber is for large rats and guinea pigs. Supplied complete with a plastic grid floor, fecal/urinary separator, metal tripod stand, two gas nipples (1/8 NPT x 1/4 NPT hose barb) and a roll of vinyl sealant tape.
