The self contained chambers are offered in single and dual channels. Warner self-contained Ussing chambers offer many advantages.
Solution warming is provided by pumping heated water through the chamber halves. There are no delicate glass heat exchangers to be broken.
The chamber consists of two holder halves which clamp around the chamber insert. Each half has 4 ports into the bath compartment, 2 electrode ports for the voltage and current electrodes, an air/gas port and a drain port. Inserts are available for a variety of tissue sizes and for the many culture cups commonly used.
Inserts are quickly changed between experiments. Solutions are drained from each chamber half through drain valves provided. The halves are then unclamped and the insert is removed and replaced with the new one.
The dual chamber U2500 has an additional feature.
It includes 4 needle valves for individual adjustment of the air/gas mixture into each of the chamber halves.
